Caldera Foundation has just announced the launch of $ERA — the native token of the Caldera protocol, marking an important step in building the (Internet of Chains) cross-chain blockchain ecosystem.

Caldera currently operates two core components: Rollup Engine – a modular operating system that enables the deployment of high-performance custom chains on Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and ZKsync; and Metalayer – a protocol layer that helps connect all chains into a single network with the ability to share liquidity and transfer assets safely as intended.

Token $ERA will play multiple roles in the ecosystem:

  • Multi-chain Gas: It is a means of paying fees when conducting transactions and synchronizing data between chains.
  • Staking & Security: Validator stakes $ERA to verify cross-chain messages and ensure network safety.
  • Governance: $ERA holders can vote on protocol upgrade proposals, allocate development funds, and elect the Caldera Foundation council.

The first airdrop will allocate 7% of the total token supply to the community, with the pre-claim registration page now open at: Users need to register before the official token launch to be eligible for rewards.

Caldera currently supports over 50 active rollups, processing more than 750 million transactions and serving over 27 million user wallets, with a total TVL exceeding 400 million USD.
