The Cosmos developer Interchain Foundation released a financial Snapshot for June 2025: a total of $254 million.

The Interchain Foundation, which supports Cosmos development and ecosystem building, today released the latest monthly financial Snapshot update in response to its latest commitment to new transparency and communication initiatives in its 2023 annual report.

The current financial Snapshot shows the ICF's current positions, including fiat currency ($71 million) and cryptocurrency ($183 million). These updates will be released on the following business day after the end of each month.

Snapshot Process and Precautions

*Prices are quoted in USD, based on data from CoinMarketCap (except for Penumbra, which uses protocol data).

*The "Other" category represents a set of tokens that individually account for a nominal amount, and therefore, for reporting purposes, they are consolidated under this category.

The following text will detail the characteristics and specifics of this report to clearly present the value and the tools/processes used. The following sections are generally updated monthly and will be slightly modified to update processes or provide more background information.

Asset Pricing

The pricing is a snapshot of the closing prices of all currencies/assets on the last day of each month (in this case, June 30) - following the standards recognized by institutions such as CoinMarketCap, Google, etc. The legal value of the token is expressed in millions of dollars, using the price from the aforementioned date, rounded to the specified amount.

Pricing data and amount

We use CoinMarketCap (excluding Penumbra, which uses protocol data) as a reference point for pricing data. Prices are quoted in USD. Monthly price fluctuations are the primary factor affecting the value and total amount of funds. The secondary factor is the annual budget expenditure of the ICF's operational/funding plan, which varies by billing cycle for each provider, leading to different peaks, such as at the end of the year. The selection of assets liquidated to cover the aforementioned expenditures varies by period.

Fiat Currency Details

The total fiat currency pool is distributed and allocated to multiple banking entities to reduce risk exposure and institutional risk—these fiat currencies are either readily available or part of an investment plan.

Fiat Investment

This percentage represents the amount of fiat currency currently invested in traditional banking mechanisms for risk management and diversification purposes. These initiatives reduce risk exposure and disperse the fiat currency into investments that are protected or have safeguards against institutional bankruptcy. The uninvested portion is used for liquidity purposes.

Cryptocurrency Details

Assets are categorized based on major holdings, which represent the total pool of the Interchain Foundation treasury. This pool consists of assets held since the establishment of the foundation, distributed investments, and airdrops/donations. There are different custodial methods to mitigate risk and exposure, and diversification can reduce the impact of price volatility. Some of these assets are actively delegated through the ICF's delegation program. Other categories represent a set of tokens that individually represent a minimal amount, so they are aggregated until the amount becomes significant or the asset becomes part of our delegation program.
