[The Governor of the Bank of Korea: Discussing Regulation of Overseas Issued Stablecoins, Will Reference EU Regulations] The Governor of the Bank of Korea, Lee Chang-yong, stated on the 19th, "The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Bank of Korea will definitely discuss how to regulate overseas issued stablecoins." During the meeting of the National Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee, Democratic Party member Kim Tae-nyeon pointed out: "The United States, Japan, and the European Union have respectively passed regulations such as the Financial Innovation Act (GENIUS Act), the Funds Settlement Act, and the Markets in Crypto-assets Regulation (MiCA), which, in principle, prohibit the sale and trading of overseas issued stablecoins within their jurisdictions.
