According to Golden Finance, Solana co-creator Toly said in an article on X that the underlying L1 protocol should be flexible enough for applications to be able to do business in any way they want. Applications will do so if they can differentiate their priorities and grow their business in this way. If the L1 protocol hinders their growth, they will leave the L1. It's as simple as that. Regardless of whether an idea is good or bad, it doesn't matter. Even stopping applications from trying those bad ideas that they think might help with the rise can inspire them to leave L1.
