The telecom provider unexpectedly unblocks the Telegram app.
Today (09/07), internet users in Vietnam have unexpectedly noticed that the Telegram application can be accessed normally again without the need to use a VPN (virtual private network). This is a positive signal for the technology user community, cryptocurrency investors, as well as businesses operating on the platform.
In late June, Telegram was blocked by some telecom providers in Vietnam. The reason may stem from regulations on online content control or issues related to cybersecurity. To overcome this barrier, users often have to use a VPN to change their IP address, creating a connection through servers abroad to gain access. However, using a VPN can sometimes cause inconveniences such as reduced connection speed, increased risk of data leakage if using untrustworthy services, or additional costs for paid VPNs.
According to the latest information from the online community, Viettel network users have confirmed that they can access Telegram without needing a VPN or changing the proxy. Some opinions suggest that other networks like VNPT may also soon lift the block in the near future. Although there has been no official announcement from the internet service providers (ISP), this move indicates an adjustment in the online content management policy, possibly to meet the increasing demands of users.
Unblocking applications brings many practical benefits. First, users can now access Telegram and similar applications quickly and stably, without being interrupted by technical issues related to VPNs. Second, this helps save costs, especially for those who had to pay for high-quality VPN services. Moreover, not needing a VPN also minimizes security risks associated with unreliable VPN applications, which may collect or sell user data.
However, users should still be cautious and monitor updates from the ISPs. Unblocking may only apply to certain applications or be temporary, depending on the management policies of each ISP. Additionally, to ensure personal information safety, users should prioritize using applications with strong encryption features and comply with privacy regulations.
In summary, the unblocking of applications by telecom providers such as Viettel and FPT is a positive signal, providing more convenience and freedom for internet users in Vietnam. This is not only an opportunity to enjoy online services but also a step forward in improving the digital environment, meeting the trends of globalization and the unlimited connectivity needs of users.
