Texas police receive 20 to 30 reports of gift card and BTC fraud

Golden Finance reported that the Roboc police in Texas reported a significant increase in BTC-related fraud cases, with victims suffering heavy losses. In the past few months, 20 to 30 people have reported fraud cases involving gift cards and BTC transactions. Fraudsters typically target the elderly, claiming that their account has been compromised and needs verification. Victims are instructed to write checks, withdraw cash, and deposit the funds into a BTC machine. Officer Brandon Stuart recalled a case where a victim transferred $25,000 and $30,000 respectively.
