Miami financier Stephen Lynch wants to buy the natural gas pipeline from Russia to Germany and has told US officials and lawmakers that US ownership of the pipeline would become a bargaining chip in ending the Ukraine war with Russia, and also align with long-term US interests. Lynch said, "Most importantly, this is a rare opportunity for the US and Europe to control European energy supply in the remaining time of the fossil fuel era."
