On January 13, according to i24NEWS, Hamas sources said that the three mediators of the United States, Qatar and Egypt are expected to announce a major breakthrough in the Gaza ceasefire protocol and even reach a framework in the next few hours. They unanimously agreed to allow the Israeli army to maintain a buffer zone of 500-700 meters at six locations around the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelphia corridor, and the seventh site is located in Juhor ad-Dik in the central Gaza Strip with a width of 1 kilometer. Israel will allow all displaced Gazans to return to their homes, including northern Gaza. The Rafah crossing will reopen on the 7th day after the protocol comes into force in order to allow serious humanitarian cases to leave the country for treatment through the coordination of Israel and Egypt. With regard to the release of hostages and the exchange of Palestinian prisoners, 30 Palestinian prisoners will be released for each "humanitarian hostage" (women, elderly and sick) released.
