Japanese media: CRV and Nissan terminate merger talks and abandon integration plans

Jinshi data, February 5th news, according to Nikkei News, Nissan decided to withdraw the commercial integration memorandum of understanding with CRV, because the two parties have differences in integration and other conditions. CRV and Nissan announced in December 2024 that they would start negotiations on business integration. The original plan was to establish a holding company, and place CRV and Nissan under the new company, with the goal of reaching the final protocol in June 2025. Strong internal opposition at Nissan has hindered the discussion process, prompting the decision to stop the negotiations. Future considerations about whether to resume integration discussions or continue cooperation in the field of electric vehicles will be evaluated.
