Hamas senior official: If the consequences of the attack on Gaza could be foreseen, it would not be supported

On February 25, local time, Moussa Abu Marzouk, a member of the Politburo of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said that if he could have anticipated the consequences of the attack on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, it would have been impossible to support the operation. He also said that Hamas may be willing to extend the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire protocol, but may demand more detained Palestinians in exchange for Israeli detainees, mentioning that 500 to 1,000 Palestinians will be exchanged for each Israeli person.
