Zama, an open-source encryption company specializing in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), has announced a Series B funding round of $57 million, led by Blockchange Ventures and Pantera Capital. This funding round brings Zama's total investment to over $150 million and values the company at over $1 billion, making it the world's first FHE unicorn.

This amount will support the mainnet launch, drive adoption within the ecosystem, and research the expansion of financial applications with thousands of transactions per second. Zama's technology enables secure smart contracts and encryption operations on public blockchains, maintaining privacy without compromising scalability. The upcoming Secure Blockchain Protocol will allow the development of privacy-preserving decentralized applications, with support for Ethereum and Solana compatible chains.
