Pakistan establishes digital asset regulatory authority

On July 8, according to Cointelegraph, the federal government of Pakistan established the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) to oversee the country's digital asset industry. PVARA will act as an independent regulatory body responsible for licensing virtual asset service providers, conducting supervision and management, while ensuring compliance with international standards, including adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
