U.S. Secretary of Commerce: Once the big issues are resolved, it will be time for Bitcoin.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick stated that after addressing major issues such as global trade and "bringing peace to the world," Bitcoin will come more to the forefront.

In an interview with Bitcoin Magazine, Lutnick stated, "Currently, the president's priority is to make global trade fairer. He mentioned that we will achieve significant developments within 90 days. So, this is the topic for the next few months. Then there are efforts to bring peace to the world. It is truly extraordinary to work with a leader who is trying to reorganize global trade and establish peace. After these major issues are resolved, we will return to Bitcoin. We have already fulfilled the president's promise to create a Bitcoin strategic reserve, but these are currently the two biggest issues on the agenda. After we finish these steps, we can discuss Bitcoin more."

"We are still in an early stage"

Lutnick also mentioned in the same interview that we are still in an early stage with Bitcoin. The U.S. Secretary stated that he got to know Bitcoin in 2017, then made small purchases, and later increased the amount. Lutnick said, "At that time, it was an early period, but I think we are still all in the early stage when it comes to Bitcoin."

"Bitcoin mining will experience an explosion"

The minister also stated that they have made various regulations regarding Bitcoin mining. "If you find the right place, you can now set up your own power plant next to your data center. This way, you are not dependent on the grid and are not subject to complaints about energy use," said Lutnick, suggesting that Bitcoin mining will accelerate in the US, even experiencing an explosion.

"Those days are behind us"

Finally, Lutnick stated that during the Biden administration, buying or mining Bitcoin was treated like doing something illegal, emphasizing that that period is behind us, "The US doesn’t go back and say 'we changed our mind' after adopting something. We closed that chapter. We are now in a positive phase, and Bitcoin will become increasingly widespread."
