According to Bloomberg, El Salvador's Minister of Economy Maria Luisa Hayem confirmed in an interview at the Web Summit in Rio de Janeiro that despite reaching a $1.4 billion loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which requires a reduction in Bitcoin purchases, the El Salvador government is still continuing to buy Bitcoin. President Bukele has pledged to continue accumulating assets, and the Bitcoin project remains a government priority. The El Salvador Bitcoin Office stated that over the past 7 days, El Salvador has added 8 Bitcoin to its national Bitcoin strategy reserves, increasing its strategic reserves to 6154.18 BTC.
