Abstract generation in progress

The co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, introduced a new digital identity system called "original identity," aimed at protecting privacy and enabling fair participation in digital life. In a blog post, he warned that IDs wrapped with zero-knowledge proof (ZK) could pose risks if a rigid identity is enforced for each person, undermining anonymity and being susceptible to surveillance.

Buterin emphasized that platforms could force users to have a unique identification, eliminating the ability to maintain multiple anonymous profiles. He proposed diverse identification systems that are not controlled by a single authority, which could use verification based on social networks or multiple ID providers, to ensure flexibility and protect privacy.
