The Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Mr. Timur Suleimenov, stated that the country is thoroughly researching the establishment of a state digital currency reserve (crypto-reserve) located at a unit under the central bank.
The plan emphasizes the transparent, secure management and adherence to international practices regarding the national asset fund, which may include confiscated digital assets or cryptocurrencies mined by state-owned entities.
The National Bank believes that centralizing and institutionalizing crypto storage activities is a key measure to ensure the safety of the country's digital assets. The specific mechanism will be completed in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and state management.
