Jin10 data, July 8 - U.S. President Trump stated that the effective date for U.S. tariffs is August 1, but he is open to postponement if countries make suggestions. When asked if the deadline is clear, Trump said, "I will make it clear, but not 100% certain. If they call and say they want to handle it differently, we will accept it." On Monday, Trump began informing trade partners, including Japan and South Korea, that the U.S. would significantly raise tariffs starting August 1, marking a new phase in the trade war he initiated earlier this year. When Trump first announced the tariff war, he set the negotiation deadline for April 9. After the market crashed, he changed the date to July 9 and earned the nickname "TACO" ("Trump Always Crumbles at the Last Minute").
