The Japanese gaming public chain Oasys recently released its technical roadmap, aimed at building a more robust underlying infrastructure for Web3 games. This roadmap focuses on three core areas: application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability, proposing corresponding solutions and short to medium-term plans.

Although the underlying blockchain technology has been continuously improved in recent years, there are still some technical shortcomings in the blockchain gaming sector. Oasys's technology roadmap focuses on addressing the following three major challenges:

1. Continuity of game assets: To address the issue of lack of continuity of user assets under a modular architecture, Oasys proposes mirroring "game assets" from layer two to layer one to ensure permanent protection of user assets.

2. Layer 2 Interoperability: Oasys plans to introduce cross-chain bridges, adopt universal data formats, and standardize APIs to achieve seamless interoperability between different Layer 2s, allowing users to freely move data and assets between games within the Oasys ecosystem.

3. Ecosystem scalability: Oasys works closely with ecosystem partners to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to support ecosystem development and reduce technical barriers. The Oasys Verse Development Kit (VDK) allows businesses to quickly access high-quality pre-configured ecosystem components on the second layer, accelerating project development and deployment.

In the short term (within 1 year), Oasys will focus on standardizing game asset specifications, creating practical use cases, and providing the Verse development kit. The mid-term (2-3 years) goals include addressing protocol layer issues, achieving interoperability, and providing developer tools.

Oasys has made significant progress in the development of practical use cases. In May, Oasys launched the L2 chain XPLA Verse, where multiple well-known games will be deployed. Additionally, the blockchain game "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" based on the Japanese football manga "Captain Tsubasa" has also been officially released on Oasys.

In terms of ecosystem expansion, Oasys has reached partnerships with several large enterprises this year. This includes a collaboration with Japan's SBI Group, aimed at increasing Oasys's influence in the Japanese crypto gaming and NFT market. Additionally, Oasys has partnered with the Web3 gaming division of South Korean internet giant Kakao, Metabora SG, to support its entry into the Japanese market.

With the gradual implementation of the technology roadmap, Oasys is steadily moving towards the vision of building a global standard for blockchain games, creating value for players and developers while also bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
