Web3 developer @web3_cryptoguy has been accused of distributing a malicious script aimed at stealing private keys of cryptocurrency wallets and sensitive user data, according to a report from blockchain security firm SlowMist. This script operates stealthily, targeting configuration files and wallet information on victims' devices, shared through developer community platforms as legitimate tools. SlowMist warns that this malware is hard to detect and can easily deceive average users. Security experts say this is a supply chain attack, increasingly common in the decentralized space. Although the financial damage has not been disclosed, previous breaches have led to losses of millions of dollars. Ethereum (ETH) is currently trading at $2,960.52, with a market capitalization of $357.38 billion.
