Pi Network has postponed the deadline for moving KYC and mainnet from February 28 to March 14, causing a lot of mixed reactions from the community. Users with non-duplicate names can resubmit their applications, but those who have appealed and been rejected may face restrictions. A New Deadline...Once Again Pi Network became the center of attention on February 20 when it launched the Open Network. This development comes nearly six years after the project was launched. It has made the PI token publicly accessible and allowed cryptocurrency exchanges to list it. Despite reaching a major milestone, Pi Network still remains quite controversial. First of all, many users have not yet completed the Know-Your-Customer (KYC) procedure and migrated to the mainnet. The group set February 28 as the deadline for these efforts, but as usual, they have extended that date. Recently, they have moved the deadline to March 14. This extension is specifically designed to help early pioneers return and want to rejoin the network as soon as the Open Network is active, maintaining Pi's core goals of inclusivity and fairness. Submit your KYC application and complete your Mainnet checklist before 8:00 AM UTC on March 14, 2025 to avoid losing your rights, as stated in the announcement. Such disclosures often trigger mixed reactions within the community. Some members appreciate the extension as it gives them more time to complete the necessary steps. However, others complain about yet another extension, calling the project a scam. Advice for Users Facing Difficulties Earlier this year, Pi Network developers issued important guidelines for those encountering issues with the KYC verification process. They stated that users with Pi account names and KYC names that do not match will often be rejected for registration because they cannot prove ownership rights. To resolve the issue, everyone should resubmit their registration with corrected details or update their Pi account name with the penalty of losing a portion of the Mobile Balance. “Qualified Pioneers include those who have had their KYC applications rejected due to name mismatch. However, Pioneers are only eligible if they have appealed once for this rejection reason, and that appeal has been rejected,” the research team announced at that time. In addition, Pi Network also allows users to make small typing errors when entering their phone numbers into their Pi accounts, which can be edited up to two digits. The disclosure clearly states: "Only allowing changing a maximum of two digits is to ensure that changing the phone number will not be exploited by violators to transfer and sell accounts or hackers to take over someone's account".
