KOL Self-Statement: InfoFi is here, my traffic has dropped to an all-time low.
The other side of the InfoFi narrative: their honey, your poison. This article originates from a piece by defizard, organized, translated, and written by Foresight News. (Previous summary: Attention = Asset, does the InfoFi track still have potential?) (Background supplement: The mouth-lifting chronicle: From private domain to public domain, and then to the clash of AI's spear and shield) In April 2023, I joined CT (Crypto Twitter) with a group of friends. At that time, we were all writing Airdrop strategies, spending 1-2 hours writing a tweet, and easily gaining 100,000 views within 12 hours. We did this every day: waking up, writing tweets, releasing, eating, sleeping, and repeating. I think during that time, our small group of content creators probably occupied about 10% of the entire CT's attention. Looking back now, it was truly a golden age. Personally, I would receive 1-2 collaboration invitations from protocol parties each month who wanted to promote their events. But at that time, what mattered was not the money, but the influence. One day I woke up and found that a tweet from my account with only 10,000 followers had actually garnered 400,000 views, and my thought at the time was, "Is this real? I can hardly believe it." Seeing so many views and likes brought me happiness that was 100 times more than the digits in my wallet (at that time it was only four digits, but anyway, money is money, and it was my first time making this much). This situation continued until September 2023, when the algorithm underwent some changes. At the same time, I faded out of CT until December 2023. If you’re curious about the reason, it’s because I had some interesting things to handle in real life, so I could only post three tweets at most each month. Around August 2023, I realized that the Airdrop space was not a long-term plan and was not suitable for me. I wanted… to become a DeFi Newbie. Look at all the creators doing Airdrop content now, where are they? I can't see them at all in the information stream, like ardizor, CC2, and so on. December 2023 marks a new chapter in my CT career. A new writing style, more dedicated effort, new illustrations, more connections, but fewer views. You might wonder, are the views really fewer? Yes, they are fewer. I started putting in much more effort than before, yet my tweets only received 20,000 views. Well, sometimes it could reach 100,000, but it’s not as bad as it is now. You ask what the situation is now? Due to the popularity of the InfoFi narrative (mainly because of Kaito), people are releasing low-quality content. The overall quality of content has dropped significantly, with 99% of people posting because "X protocol allocated 5% of the tokens to the yappers, I need to yap a bit more." The more rewards are allocated to yappers, the worse the situation gets. What else? I feel that my content quality has reached a historical high level, while the effort I put in is also increasing, but the views and number of new followers have dropped to a historical low. My entire information stream is filled with content from the Kaito leaderboard, which is worthless. What should we do? Perhaps during the market lull, we could discuss various protocols on Kaito, try to provide valuable content, improve content quality as much as possible, and make it unique. Good luck to all content creators. This path is becoming increasingly difficult, and only the strongest can survive and thrive. Stay focused and patient, whether in CT or in life. One day, you will be rewarded. Related reports: How much longer can the "mouth-lifting" economy last? Where is the next stop for crypto marketing?
