So far, the project has deployed over 65,000 computing nodes in 133 countries.

User Incentive Mechanism of DePIN

The DePIN project not only relies on token incentives but also benefits from customer revenue in the real world. Taking the environmental monitoring project as an example, it profits by selling anonymous environmental data to companies. 75% of the revenue will be used to burn tokens or reward the community.

Distributed computing projects focus more on the resilience of the incentive structure. A robust system should have a self-regulating mechanism that increases rewards after users leave, thereby maintaining the network's attractiveness. This design philosophy is also reflected in the project's incentive architecture, avoiding the pitfalls of short-term games of high sell and low buy.

In addition, some DePIN projects are also attempting to use mechanisms such as point systems, lotteries, and staking to enhance user engagement and mitigate volatility during market downturns.

The Importance of DePIN

DePIN is a return to the original intention of Web3. It is not driven by financial speculation or "meme economy", but by a network of practically usable infrastructure that provides real value and connects real users. Ordinary users only need a smartphone to participate in contributions and receive incentives, without the need to pre-configure a wallet or understand complex on-chain concepts. This experience is closer to Web2 applications while retaining the asset sovereignty and privacy advantages of Web3.

Many users in developing countries have secured stable income by participating in DePIN networks. In certain regions, an additional $10 to $50 per month can lead to significant improvements. This is referred to as a "new type of income method that does not require reporting to a boss," similar to shared economy platforms in the blockchain era.

This "bottom-up" construction method not only releases a massive amount of idle global resources but also empowers more people to shape the systems they use.

Future Outlook: Interoperability, AI, and Industry Associations

For the next evolution of DePIN, "composability" and "seamless experience" will be key.

In the future, DePIN projects will be more interconnected and collaborative. For example, environmental data provided by one project can be accessed by other applications through an SDK, while another project provides the privacy computing resources needed to process this data. Collaboration among multiple projects will greatly enhance system efficiency and user experience.

At the same time, the establishment of the DePIN Association is also promoting standardization and cross-project collaboration. Multiple projects are jointly building universal protocols and an open ecosystem to reduce duplication of development costs and accelerate collective innovation.
