Understand how Across Protocol achieves efficient and secure cross-chain transactions through intent-driven architecture and optimistic oracle. Explore its token economy, cross-chain roles, and ERC-7683 standard, and grasp the future trends of blockchain interoperability.

Preface

With the rapid development of blockchain technology, cross-chain interoperability has become the key to connecting different blockchain ecosystems. Across Protocol (ACX), as an intent-based cross-chain protocol, is committed to providing a fast, low-cost, and secure cross-chain transaction experience, facilitating the free circulation of assets across multiple chains.

Across Protocol Introduction

The Across Protocol uses an innovative intention-driven architecture that allows users to specify transaction goals without having to worry about technical details. The protocol relies on a competitive relay network and UMA’s optimistic oracle to ensure efficient and secure transactions, addressing the issue of multi-chain fragmentation and improving overall blockchain synergy.

Technical Architecture and Operation Process

  • Users deposit assets into the Spoke Pool of the source chain, along with the address of the target chain and fee instructions.
  • Relayers check and provide funds to the target chain in real time to complete the transaction.
  • Relayers submit proofs to the optimistic oracle for verification and receive compensation upon approval.
  • Liquidity providers (LPs) inject funds into the Hub Pool to ensure liquidity and earn fees.
  • If the relay cannot be completed in time, the system will use the slow channel to ensure the completion of the transaction.

Ecological Roles

  • User: The initiator of cross-chain asset transfer, enjoying convenient transactions.
  • Relayer: Provides short-term token loans and charges fees, bearing transaction risks.
  • Liquidity providers: deposit assets into the liquidity pool to ensure fund liquidity and earn profits.
  • Data workers: maintain system stability, submit transaction bundles, and participate in dispute resolution.

Token Economics

ACX is an ERC-20 token with a total supply of 1 billion, allocated as follows:

  • Early airdrop of 1.15 billion
  • Strategic cooperation and financing of 2.5 billion
  • Protocol LP rewards 1 billion
  • DAO reserves 5.35 billion

The token is used to incentivize liquidity providers, expand the community, strengthen the position of the cross-chain bridge, and has a lock-in incentive program to promote long-term participation.

ERC-7683 Cross-chain Intent Standard

Driven jointly by Uniswap Labs and Across Protocol, the ERC-7683 standard unifies cross-chain intent structure and API, enhancing interoperability of Ethereum and its Layer 2 ecosystem, simplifying cross-chain development, and expanding liquidity access. Over 40 projects have committed to support this standard.
