Jinshi data on February 25th, Citibank released a report stating that after the performance of the second half of last year was announced by Bank of East Asia (00023.HK), it updated its valuation model. The bank raised its earnings per share forecast for the fiscal year 2025 to 2026 by 8% to 13%, mainly driven by a 1 to 2% increase in revenue, a 2 to 3% improvement in costs, and the redemption of additional Tier 1 capital bonds (AT1). At the same time, the impairment forecast was raised by 6 to 8% to reflect the continued macroeconomic uncertainty. With the change in earnings forecasts, the target price was correspondingly raised from 9.3 Hong Kong dollars to 11.3 Hong Kong dollars, maintaining a neutral rating.
