The proposal of 'BLUR Fee Conversion' was put forward by Split Capital at the Blur Governance Forum on November 12th. The proposal aims to add a framework to increase the protocol fee and reflow the fee into the voting-locked BLUR (veBLUR) Token. So far, Blur Token cannot replace the market protocol, which has been implementing 0% market fees and mandatorily enforcing 0.5% creator royalties. The proposal suggests canceling the mandatory creator royalties and increasing the protocol fee by 0.5% per transaction. It is also recommended to establish a fee committee that can change the protocol fee rate for quick adjustment according to market conditions and competitive landscape. Split Capital suggests changing the BLUR Token economy by using two tokens, BLUR and veBLUR, to manage Blur's utilities and governance, similar to Aerodrome. It is also proposed to add 1% (30 million BLUR) of the total supply as rewards to the current season, which will be distributed to Blur users based on their total points at the end of the season.
